Celebrating Eyisi and Emenike: Models of Production Over Consumption

I have always maintained that our politics must focus on moving Nigeria from consumption to production. Over the weekend, I had the privilege of celebrating two remarkable Nigerians who embody this transition in both their personal journeys and their contributions to our national economy.

First is Chief Simeon Eyisi (Sims), who recently turned 75. Then Prof. Poly Emenike (Nero) marked his 70th birthday. These two gentlemen began life with very modest resources, but through discipline, vision, and an unshakeable work ethic, they moved from simply trading and consuming imported goods to establishing productive enterprises that now create value for our country.

From small trading ventures, they built companies that manufacture, distribute, and support industries, employing thousands of Nigerians from every part of the nation. They demonstrate what is possible when hard work, integrity, and purposeful leadership meet opportunity.

This is the Nigeria we should celebrate, men and women who build, who produce, who lift others, and who contribute to national development. Not the glorification of shortcuts, easy money, or criminality, but the celebration of enterprise, productivity, and honest success.

A new Nigeria is POssible. - PO
